Popular quick-service restaurant chain Wow! Momo has announced the tragic loss of three lives following a devastating fire at its warehouse facility in Anandpur, Kolkata. The incident occurred in the early hours of January 26, 2026, around 3:00 am, when a fire from a neighbouring warehouse spread into Wow! Momo’s premises, completely gutting one of its warehouses.

According to the company’s official statement, the fire reportedly originated due to unauthorised cooking activity at the neighbouring warehouse. The blaze quickly escalated and engulfed the Wow! Momo facility, resulting in the death of two company employees and one NIS-contracted security guard.

Company Expresses Deep Grief

In an emotional statement, Wow! Momo said it is “immersed in grief and pain” over the loss of its team members, calling the incident not just a physical loss but one that has deeply affected the spirit of the organisation.

“Our hearts, minds, and prayers go out to the families of the deceased,” the company said, adding that employees remain its “biggest asset.”
