In a historic streak, Indore has once again been crowned as India’s cleanest city, marking its eighth consecutive win in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25, the world’s largest urban cleanliness survey conducted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Surat retained its second position, and Navi Mumbai made it to the top three, clinching the third rank.
The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu at a grand ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The Swachh Survekshan, now in its ninth year, assessed over 4,500 cities across the country based on a framework of 10 parameters and 54 performance indicators.
